“Live in the present, launch yourself on every wave, find eternity in each moment.”
~ Henry David Thoreau
My first blog post for 2026!!!
ℍ𝕒𝕡𝕡𝕪 ℕ𝕖𝕨 𝕐𝕖𝕒𝕣!!

Today I thought about all of my favourite things, and it made me think of the song "My Favourite Things".
This song was sung by Julie Andrews in The Sound of Music and was composed by Richard Rodgers
and written by Oscar Hammerstein II.
I love this song and the movie.

What are a few of your favourite things?
Make a list.
Think of one of your favourite things whenever you feel like your spirit needs uplifting.
That's what I do, and it really works!!

Here are the words to "My Favourite Things" intermixed with a few of my favourite things.
Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens

Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favourite things

Cream-coloured ponies and crisp apple strudels
Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings
These are a few of my favourite things

Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes
Silver-white winters that melt into springs
These are a few of my favourite things

When the dog bites
When the bee stings

When I'm feeling sad

I simply remember my favourite things
And then I don't feel so bad
