Woven Wall for Wednesday!

Aren't trees just wondrous?
I took the above piccy of some tree bark because it had a beautiful golden yellow pale grey-green lichen growing on it. It kind of looked woven!
Lichen are common, complex, but generally harmless organisms that grow on lots of surfaces, including tree trunks, rocks, walls, and the ground. Rather than being a single organism, they are a symbiotic partnership between a fungus and an alga (or cyanobacteria), which allows them to survive and thrive in varied environments.
Lichen are a key source of food, shelter, and nesting material for animals, birds, and insects, while also producing oxygen and are great indicators of air quality.
There are over 3,000 species of Lichen in Australia!😮
